The Quaker Children Programmes (QCP) Crusade and Overnight Prayers ignited a spiritual awakening on 20th June 2025 at Kiminini Market in Elgon East Yearly Meeting, Trans-Nzoia County. With the theme “Faithful Advancement in Crisis” (Acts 13:12), the event brought together Friends from various yearly meetings—except Highlands and Chwele, who sent apologies—for a transformative time of worship, teaching, and prayer.

“When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.” — Acts 13:12

Pastor Isaac Wepukhulu, a gifted evangelist from Chevaywa Yearly Meeting, delivered a compelling message during the crusade session, touching the hearts of many, especially traders in the bustling Kiminini town, several of whom gave their lives to Christ. His message, full of hope and conviction, was presided over by QCP leadership and marked a spiritual milestone in the area.

Overnight Prayers

At 3:00 PM, Elgon East General Secretary Bro. Albert Bakasa officially opened the overnight prayers. The night vigil saw over 600 attendees, including pastors from various denominations, Friends Church leaders, and the Elgon East leadership team led by General Superintendent Pastor Sirengo.

Sermon

QCP-FCK Coordinator Pastor Emily Ndei, in her opening address, commended the host yearly meeting for the well-organized event. She urged all yearly meetings to invest in continuous teacher training and to support QCP teachers through motivation and spiritual encouragement.

The overnight session reached its crescendo under the anointed ministry of Apostle Nelson Shaka, whose powerful sermon and fervent prayers drew the congregation into deep worship. The service, overseen by QCP-FCK Pastor Dancun Mwigai, continued until morning, concluding with a heartfelt prayer from the QCP-K Coordinator at 11:00 AM on 21st June 2025.

As the gathering came to a close, teachers and ministers returned to their respective meetings renewed in spirit, ready to carry the light of Christ back to their communities.
